According to a report released today by Miami Realtors, Miami’s pending home sales rose 28.6 percent year-over-year in September. The report states that the total for the month, which includes pending sales of single-family homes in Miami and condominiums, was 10,219, up from 7,944 in September 2009 and from 10,119 in August.
Miami Condos performed particularly well. Pending sales were up 40 percent year-over-year, while Miami homes were up 16.1 percent during that time period. The trade group attributed part of the sales boost to interest in the region from foreign buyers. Residential president of Miami Realtors, Oliver Ruiz, said "the Euro has recently re-strengthened, resulting in even greater demand from European buyers, while many Latin American buyers are looking for a safe haven to invest their money."
